Riding programs at La Paz

Andalusia has always been the land of horses.

The white pearls in the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, the majestically decorated carriages at the ferias, the renowned breeding farms of the PREs (Purebred Spanish Horses) where these horses grow up on endless fincas, the ferias and romerias where hundreds of traditionally ridden horses are simply indispensable – traditions that are passed down and cherished from generation to generation. But also the Vaquero horses, which work daily on the large fincas and with the herds, venture into the most rugged terrain.

The horse is part of everyday life here – whether dazzling in a show, proud at a feria, or as a partner at work.

Andalusia is a land of extremes with a unique bloom in spring that bathes individual fields in vibrant splashes of pink, yellow, and blue, a dry summer that reflects the land in a thousand shades of brown, and a winter where it sometimes really rains, only for the bright sunshine to return immediately and coax out the first tender green. A bustling Mediterranean coast, a rugged breathtaking Atlantic coast, endless pastures, huge cork oak forests, small white villages, and cities steeped in culture form a constant contrast.

All of this from the most beautiful perspective – from the back of an Andalusian horse!
